Les Arcanes d'Hermes: le berger de podhale et son histoire

Ulan, Utopia and me !

Our breeding programme started more that ten years ago with our first dogs Ulan, Utopia and Lumière who turned out to be exceptional parents.

As informed dog lovers, already at the time, we wanted the best origins and before having Ulan, Utopia and Lumiere we waited more than two years, two years of searching, contacts and travels in many foreign countries.

We now have at home nine Podhale Sheperds still including of course Ulan, Utopia and Lumière who are getting older by the fireside!!!

Although Les Arcanes d'Hermes are now a reference concerning the Podhale Sheperd and that our reputation of selector is international, we only produce a few litters a year (3 or 4), essential to go further in our objectives

Because this OBJECTIVE always remained the same one: Always to do more and better in the selection and the improvement of the race. To keep this orientation, only selective and considered litters born at “les Arcanes d'Hermes”, our principal priority being the health and the stability of character

A few years later !!

All our dogs in age to reproduce are at least « classified » 4 points in the grid of selection of the french parents, i.e. « recommended ».
Only exceptional parents are bred in Les Arcanes d'Hermes, our goal certainly not being intensive production.

This work of selection and improvement of the Podhale Sheperd race which was done for years by les Arcanes d'Hermes was awarded by the Société Centrale Canine (Central Canine Association) and its comity on the 3rd of july 2002. It was given the highest distinction to a breeding in France : the title of "Breeding recommended by the SCC ".

Only about fifty breedings in France, all races taken

into account, have the right to use this title.

Les Arcanes d'Hermes is the first and the only current one for Podhale Sheperd.
